About Janet Lee, L.Ac., DACM
Janet Lee received her doctorate in acupuncture and Chinese medicine (DACM) from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego. She is a licensed acupuncturist (L.Ac.) in California, Missouri and Kansas and a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine (Dipl. OM). In 2013, she completed a training program at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Chengdu, China, with rotations in oncology, neurology, cardiology and andrology.
Janet is a Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (FABORM), one of only two practitioners in the state of Kansas who has earned this distinction and the only one in Kansas City to have it. It means she has completed extensive specialized training in women’s health and infertility and passed a rigorous exam. Janet continues to pursue education and training in women’s health, reproductive medicine and pregnancy health so she can be of the most service to her clients.
Janet enjoys exercise and brings an extensive background in health and fitness. She is a 200-hour certified yoga teacher (Yoga Medicine and Yoga Alliance), Certified Exercise Physiologist (American College of Sports Medicine) and a Corrective Exercise Specialist (National Academy of Sports Medicine). She has dedicated hundreds of additional hours to the study of sports medicine and corrective exercise and enjoys working with fitness enthusiasts and athletes to help them improve performance and head off injuries.
She is the co-author of The Supplement Handbook (Rodale, November 2014) with Mark Moyad, MD, the world’s foremost supplement expert, which is a research-based guide to using supplements responsibly to help treat more than 100 health conditions [view book]. She continues to write health, nutrition and fitness stories for national magazines, including Consumer Reports, Shape, Real Simple and Cosmopolitan.
